Foundation Females -- Preserving and utilizing genetics of success is a priority in the El Coyote Ranch program. Many of these animals date back twenty years in the industry. The genetic strengths of these animals are a dominating factor still in demand in the industry today. The power of predictability and consistent quality progeny is a large part of our success in the industry today. The female below is evidence of what can be built from a powerful genetics.

The Super Seventy Inch T2T Females:



Tari Graves FM 49: (Deceased - In Memoriam) Produced in 1992 by the great foundation breeder, F.M. “Blackie” Graves, Tari Graves remains as one of the most influential females of all time in the Texas Longhorn breed. Sired by the straight Butler bull, Mr. Graves, and out of the great producing female, Texas Tari FM 610, Tari Graves is known throughout the industry as the dam of exceptional horn producing progeny. At the age of 17, she measures 79 7/8 inches of T2T Horn and 87 5/8 inches of Total Horn. Tari Graves has been one of our top embryo donor females since 2005 and has been a huge influence on the El Coyote program. Approximately 10% of the herd is either a direct daughter or maternal granddaughter of Tari Graves. Two of her greatest daughters that remain in our program are Tari’s Transition and Eternally Tari, both donors in the embryo transfer program. Several ET sons are currently being tested as potential herd sires in the program.

Delta Vixen: Acquired as a young three year old in the purchase of the Johnnie and Ruth Hoffman herd, Vixen has established herself as one of the most recognized and highly sought after females in the Texas Longhorn breed. Vixen is an outstanding, highly productive daughter of the immortal sire, Emperor that is known throughout the Texas Longhorn industry as a sire of big framed, big horned offspring with exceptional producing ability and remains as one of the preferred sire in the pedigrees of cattle with the highest market demand among Texas Longhorn breeders. Vixen’s dam is the great female, Delta Sissie, who descends through Dixie Ruler and Monarch 103. At the age of 16, Vixen measures 74 ¼ inches T2T and 97 3/8 inch Total Horn. She continues to be one of top donor females in the embryo transfer program and is a strong contributor to the genetic excellence of the El Coyote program through her outstanding daughters and sons. Two of her greatest daughters to date are Delta VanHorne, a 75 inches T2T female owned by Taylor Cattle Company, and ECR Vixen’s Heiress 212, a many times Horn Showcase Champion that measures 68 1/2 inches T2T and 93 1/2 inches of Total Horn and is currently a donor in our embryo transfer program. Her strong maternal influence is being expanded through her great son, Julio’s Vixen ECR, one of our featured herd sires. A full brother to Julio Vixen, Julio’s Leyenda, is a herd sire in the 4 Gone Ranch program. Another son, Tommie Vixen, is serving as a principal herd sire in the Zech Dameron program.

Tari’s Transition: Born in 1998 on the El Coyote Ranch, Transition is one of the greatest daughters of Tari Graves FM 49. At the age of 11, she measures 72 1/4 inches of T2T Horn and 97 1/2 inches of Total Horn. Sired by Dixie Thunder, a tremendous son of Emperor and out of the great female, Delta Society, a full sister to the outstanding sire, Bail Jumper, Transition has established herself as one of the important females in the El Coyote program. In 2008, she was named a donor in our embryo transfer program and her influence and the influence of her dam, Tari Graves, will continue in the El Coyote herd.

Delta Carol: Acquired as a four year old in the purchase of the Johnnie and Ruth Hoffman herd, Carol is another outstanding Emperor daughter that descends to Dixie Ruler and Delta Flame, a full sister to the very popular foundation sire, Dixie Hunter. At the age of 17, Carol measures 73 ¼ inches T2T and 96 1/4 inch Total Horn. She continues to be one of top females in the El Coyote herd and has been a tremendous contributor to the genetic excellence of the program through her daughters, such as ECR Cactus Colada 205.

Super Dreams: (Deceased) One of our “Grannies”. At the age of 22, Super Dreams continues to be a part of the El Coyote program. One of the marvelous traits of the Texas Longhorn breed is longevity and we have been blessed to have many females continue to produce progeny at ages greater than 20 years. Sired by the renown sire, Measles Super Ranger, Dreams measures 71 3/8 inches T2T and 92 3/4 inch Total Horn. Although she is past her prime and limited in her productivity, her contribution continues through her daughter, ECR Cocktails-N-Dreams.

JMC Phenomenal Cutie Pie: Another one of our “Grannies”. At the age of 21, Cutie Pie continues to be a donor in the embryo transfer program as well as a huge contributor through the influence of her sons, Habanero and Tommie Coyote. Sired by one of the most popular sires of all time, Phenomenon, and out of the great female, JVC Impressive Ruth, Cutie Pie has established herself as one of the greatest producing Phenomenon daughters of all time. Cutie Pie measures 74 3/8 inches T2T and 88 inch Total Horn. One of her greatest daughters to date is ECR Habanera 232, a 2002 daughter that measures 69 ¾ inches T2T and soon will become a member of the Super Seventies.

Light of Dawn 008: Measuring 70 5/8 inches T2T and 85 5/8 inches of Total Horn, 008 became of member of the Super Seventies this year. Sired by our popular herd sire, Don Julio, and out of one of the greatest females of all time, Delta Dawn, 008 continues to be a strong contributor to the genetic strength of the El Coyote program.

Queenmaker: Measuring 73 1/2 inches T2T and 81 1/2 inches of Total Horn, Queenmaker has been a member of our donor female group since 2006. Sired by Vision Quest and out of the outstanding female, Coyote Queen, Queenmaker continues to be a strong contributor to our program. Two of her most popular daughters are ECR Tammy 216, a 2002 female that measures 75 1/8 inches of T2T and is owned by Rex Mosser, and ECR Little Queen of Mine, one of our great 2003 females that measures 69 inches T2T and soon will become a member of the Super Seventies.

Delta Mudbug: Measuring 70 1/4 inches T2T and 78 1/4 inches of Total Horn, Mudbug has been a highly productive, major contributor to the El coyote program. Sired by Emperor and out of the famous female, Delta Silk, Mudbug joins her half sister, Delta Vixen, as major additions to our program through the acquisition of the Hoffman herd. Mudbug entered our embryo program in 2007 as a donor and her contributions continue today through her progeny in the El Coyote program as well as several daughters and sons that have been sold to herds through the Texas Longhorn industry.

The Honored Hundred Inch Total Horn Female

Silver Choice: Born in 1998 on the ranch, Silver Choice became the first Texas Longhorn cow to be officially measured at greater than 100 inches of Total Horn during the 2007 Horn Showcase. Sired by the great herd sire, JK Sterling, and out of one of the greatest horn producing cows of all time and multiple Horn Showcase Champion, Delta Disco, Silver Choice has been a Horn Showcase champion female every year since 2005. Her genetic strength for horn production is evident since her daughter, Coach’s Choice, was a Horn Showcase Champion in 2008. Measuring 63 1/2 inches of T2T Horn and 103 1/2 inches of Total Horn, the genetic contribution of this great female to the El Coyote program is unlimited. She has entered our embryo transfer program as an elite donor and is being mated to many of the top sires in the industry. Time will only tell, but our outlook for this outstanding female is bright.

Julio’s Princess 967: ** SOLD ** Born in 1999 on the El Coyote Ranch, Princess is one of the outstanding daughters of Don Julio, our outstanding son of Phenomenon and Delta Diamond. At the age of 10, she measures 66 inches of T2T Horn and 96 3/4 inches of Total Horn. Princess has established herself as one of the important females in the El Coyote program.

ECR Vixen’s Heiress 212: Vixen’s Heiress 212 is a multiple Horn Showcase Champion and one of the greatest daughters of Delta Vixen. Measuring 68 ½ inches T2T and 93 ½ inches of Total Horn, this outstanding seven year old has been a donor in the embryo transfer program since 2006. Sired by Don Julio and out of the great female, Delta Vixen, Heiress is without a doubt one of the major females in the El Coyote program. Her full brother, Julio’s Vixen, as well as another full brother, Julio’s Leyenda that is serving as a herd sire in the 4 Gone Ranch program for the Mounce family, have proved the value of this ancestry to the Texas Longhorn industry.

High Hopes 749: *** SOLD *** Measuring 58 ¾ inches T2T and 95 7/8 inches of Total Horn, this outstanding 12 year old also represents the complete Texas Longhorn female with an abundance of horn, plenty of size and conformation. Another daughter of the superior total horn sire, CK Super Dixie, and out one of the great females of all time, Hoping For Style, High Hopes has been a visitor favorite at the ranch.

Silver Star 015: Silver Star 015 is a Horn Showcase Champion measuring 97 5/8 inches of Total Horn. Sired by the horn producing sire, JK Sterling, and out of the great female, Delta Starstruck, Silver Star is making a name for herself in the El Coyote program. Through the use of natural service and artificial insemination, Silver Star is being mated to some of the outstanding sires in the industry. Future offspring should establish the superior breeding value of Silver Star and place her among the outstanding contributors in the El Coyote program.

Donors in the El Coyote Embryo Transfer Program

ECR Miss Houston 336 (Deceased): In 2003, at the age of 15, Delta Miss America gave birth to one of the most dynamic Texas Longhorn females of all time, ECR Miss Houston 336. Sired by Houston Solution, Miss Houston 336 measured 79 5/8 inches T2T and 95 inches Total Horn at age 5 and was one of the most talked about females in the breed. Although, she recently died after a difficult birth, embryos from many of the top sires in the breed were collected and she will continue her influence in the El Coyote program through her sons and daughters via our embryo transfer program.

Delta Miss America: One of our “Grannies” and the dam of ECR Miss Houston 336. Full sisters and embryo full brothers and sisters to ECR Miss Houston 336 are available and will be implanted through the years. At the age of 21, Delta Miss America remains a very important genetic factor in the El Coyote program. Sired by the renown sire, Dode’s Classic FM 446, and out of the super female, Delta Mona , Miss America measures 63 3/4 inches T2T and 82 inch Total Horn. Although certainly past her prime, her contribution continues through her daughters: Delta Rag Doll, Silver Speck’Tacular, Miss Houston 336 and Julio’s American Doll.

Eternally Tari: Born in 1998 on the El Coyote Ranch, Eternally Tari is one of the best producing daughters of Tari Graves FM 49. Sired by CK Donovan, Eternally Tari measures 67 7/8 inches of T2T Horn and 77 3/4 inches of Total Horn. The genetic contribution of this great donor female to the El coyote program has been unexcelled. The dam of one of our principal herd sires, Tequilero ECR, Eternally Tari is also the dam of ECR Eternal Tari that measures well over 77 inches T2T and is owned by Hudson Longhorns. In addition, several daughters remain in the El Coyote herd, including Tari’s Angelina 101, and Eternally Tari continues to be an important donor in the El Coyote Ranch embryo transfer program.

Bayou Dynasty 339/6: Purchased from Dr. Eugene and Jolie Berry from Louisiana, Dynasty is a full sister to Bayou Empress, the 78 inch T2T Horn Showcase Champion female currently owned by Ron and Barbara Marquess. Measuring 66 inches of T2T Horn and 88 inches of Total Horn, Dynasty is scheduled to enter our embryo transfer program this year and we cannot wait for the exciting progeny that should develop. ECR Coaching Dynasty, a Fall 2006 daughter sired by Coach Tommie, is looking very promising and currently is being bred to an ET son of Phenomenon and Tari Graves FM 49 for a very interesting genetic mating.

ECR Habanera 232: A 2002 Straight Shooter daughter out of the El Coyote donor female, JMC Phenomenal Cutie Pie that descends to Phenomenon and an Impressive daughter, JVC Impressive Ruth. Golden Reflection: A 1998 Emperor daughter out of the famous Butler female, Delta Nicole, currently residing in the Joel and Shirley Lemley program. Golden Reflection is a full sister to Delta Fifi, the 75+ inch T2T female owned by Lee and Linda Regains, as well as Dixie River, the outstanding herd sire serving in the Dr. Eugene and Jolie Berry program in Louisiana. Measuring 63 inches of T2T Horn and 85 7/8 inches of Total Horn, Golden Reflection is the dam of Golden Julio, one of our Three Amigos herd sires and a son of Don Julio.
